Multi-core…
Well as Inexistence runs on a Multi-core processor thanks to DaVs…
I’ve been experimenting with what support Linux has for it…
Taskset was my discovery first thing…
So I’m proud to say we’re actually using the cores more efficiently now.
For example the Neverwinter Nights 1 server we’ve been running gets to
play with core 4 all by itself, Core 3 has all the xinetd processes, etc…
Seems to make things more snappy now…
Enjoy!
PS. I also did some wordpress plugin updates for you folks and optimized
some memory usage issues hope everyone is enjoying the services!
Pure-ftpd 1.0.27…
I noticed we were quite behind in the pure-ftpd versions (1.0.22) so I upgraded to 1.0.26 tonight.
What this means if ftp is once again better performing try out FTP+TLS sometime it’s a lot faster…
Just a heads up update…
– Updated to 1.0.27 yesterday and as it doesn’t really require a new post I edited this one. (Dec 14, 2009)

And the updates for today are:
All WordPress installs are up to date.
SVN pulls have been done.
apt-get update / dist-upgrade has been done.
IPV6 is coming back soon just have to re-enable the tunnel.
On a side note I’m playing around with the idea of dovecot or another wu-imapd
replacement, I’ll let you know what I decide.
IPV6 Experiment on Hiatus…
The ipv6 experiment is over as I had to switch back to our old router as DaVs needed the airport extreme.
The reason this breaks ipv6 is the current build of dd-wrt I’m using does not support it.
When I get the time I’ll update to a version that does support it….
And the difference being is I know dd-wrt supports ipv6 a lot better than apple does for the router.
Aka tunnelbroker will be back and pointing to inexistence in the future…
Side effect though ftp + tls works again thanks to using dd-wrt!
PS. All things upgraded tonight (apt-get and svn pulls)
